In Condor 107/3 (August 2005), the paper “Blood metabolite and corticosterone levels in breeding adult pied flycatchers,” by Michael Kern et al., contained a copyediting error. On p. 674, the second paragraph of “Perspectives” should read as follows (correction highlighted in boldface): “The metabolites that are most useful in this regard are (1) triglycerides, whose titers increase when a bird fattens and decrease when it fasts, and (2) free fatty acids, glycerol, and β-hydroxybutyrate, all of which increase during fasting.” The editors regret the error.
